so, i’ve been back for a couple of weeks now…and i am just starting to feel like myself again….for a while it felt as though i was suspended in two different universes….one full of long beautiful days, endless croissants and photographs & amazing people…the other a blur catch up & ketchup, clients & children….so as my jet lag subsides & i begin to explore the forest of photographs from france, i am ready to share….share my gratitude to all the amazingly talented & creative people who came together to make france & the lovely workshop such a once in a lifetime experience…and of course i am ready to share my photographs…and i warn you there are many….so over the coming weeks i will be doing posts that highlight the different designers & artists that collaborated with me…and i will be doing a series of wonderful giveaways….so sit back & relax…and come share my dreams….bon voyage…

a couple of months ago…..my sweet friend LEAH flew from the east coast to personally teach me one of her passions….encaustic painting….now LEAH has been covering my photos with wax for years (she even appeared on the MARTHA STEWART SHOW & taught martha how to paint with wax, with one of my photographs…amazing)….it was wonderful to learn how to do the proccess myself….we were like two kids with finger paints & no parents…..it was wonderful…..beeswax is so beautiful…

so now i am completely & irrevocably smitten….my images want to be covered in wax, they are in love….in fact i have an urge to cover everything in wax(i am hoping this urge fades soon, because although quite beautiful, perhaps not totally appropriate)….alas my photos want to marry wax….here is a little sneak peak into my studio after an art making experience with the incredibly talented LEAH MACDONALD….for those of you who do not have the time or inclination to learn this proccess yourself….you can have LEAH turn your photographs into works of art at WAX WORKS PHOTO….

A LOVELY WORKSHOP IS GOING TO FRANCE

this lovely chateau will be the home for elizabeth & the attendees of the 2010  LOVELY WORKSHOP there will be insightful & inspiring instruction by elizabeth messina as well as some of her fabulous collaborators….all attendess will have the opportunity for a porfolio review with amazing Jaqueline Tobin, the author of WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY UNVEILED and the deputy photo editor at PDN….

the chateau is nestled in the french countryside about an hour outside of paris….in addition to the beautiful ground surrounding the chateau, we will have access to an eleventh century church (seen below) that is also on the property….we live in & photograph a little piece of french history….and…

the incredibly talented LEAH MACDONALD, one of the founders of WAXWORKS will teach all the attendees how to make their very own encaustic wax photograph…we will study & learn, be inspired & inspire others, as we dine on french cuisine….& even with all os this amazing talent & opportunity, elizabeth’s very favorite part is THE KISSING TREE that sits beautifully in front of the chateau….

airplane to check out, scout & photograph the
stunning chateau that will be the location for
the 2010 lovely worshop….save the dates!!

here are a few details….this will be an intensive learning
& cultural experience with elizabeth messina and some very
