“the sweetest thing”
The sweetest thing I’ve ever known
Was like the kiss on the collarbone
Soft caress of happiness
The way you walk, your style of dress
I wish I didn’t get so weak
Ooo, baby, just to hear you speak
Makes me argue just to see
How much you’re in love with me
See, like a queen, a queen upon her throne
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know,
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know
I get mad when you walk away (don’t walk away)
So I tell you leave, when I mean stay
Warm as the sun dipped in black
Fingertips on the small of my back
More valuable than all I own
Like your precious, precious, precious, precious dark skin tone
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know,
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know
It was the…Ah
I tried to explain
Ah…but baby, it’s in vain
Speaking on my mother’s phone
The touching makes me think I’m grown, (you ain’t grown)
Sweet prince of the ghetto
Your kisses taste like armoretto
Intoxicating, oh, so intoxicating
How sad, how sad that all things come to an end
But then again, I’m, I’m not alone
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know,
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know

more than two decades ago i was dragged to a movie…i say dragged because i was a twelve year old girl who had no real interest in action movies…and i had no idea what or who indiana jones was…but i went…i pouted a little, but i went…and then, i fell in love…with the action..the treasure…and lets face it, harrison ford…so how surprising & fitting that it would happen again with a half pint version of indiana jones…he’s stolen my heart & won’t give it back…boys are just something special…xoxo

“Turn Me On”
Like a flower
Waiting to bloom
Like a lightbulb
In a dark room
Im just sittin here waiting for you
To come on home and turn me on
Like the desert waiting for the rain
Like a school kid waiting for the spring
Im just sitting here waiting for you
To come on home and turn me on
My poor heart
Its been so dark
Since youve been gone
After all your the one who turns me off
You’re the only one who can turn me back on
My Hi-fi is waiting for a new tune
My glass is waiting for some fresh ice cubes
I’m just sitting here waiting for you
To come on home and turn me on
Turn me on
a little more sweetness...
yes, i saved it…i simply loved my bouquet & still do….mindy rice wrapped the lavender with linen & velvet ribbon….then she attached a pendant that belonged to my grandmother….i felt as if my grandmother was with me as i walked down the aisle….it was so simple & lovely….the lavender is dry now & falling off….but it still brings a smile to my face….may your day be full of nostalga & sweetness & lots of little reminders of love….the details in our lives are often full of inspiration…xoxo
